We have a great team working at Rothiemurchus, and although we are all very different, we have one thing in common; we all care passionately about this fantastic place.
Cattle Manager
I’ve had a life long passion for agriculture and in particular cattle, so much so that I often find myself talking to them like they are another person. In my spare time (Not that there is much of that!) I enjoy spending time with my family, attending agricultural shows and all manner of motorsport!
Countryside Ranger
68 years old and semi-retired. I come from a family of Gamekeepers, Deer Stalkers and Fishing Ghillies – father, grandfather, brother, uncles and cousins. I have lived and worked all my life in the countryside, being brought up with fishing rod and gun. I worked for 12 years as deer stalker, fishing ghillie and grouse keeper on several Highland estates on Aberdeenshire Deeside, latterly Mar Lodge, before a change of career in my late thirties took me to Drumpellier Country Park, Coatbridge, near Glasgow. This proved to be a radically different but valuable step in a long career of helping people enjoy and appreciate the countryside. After several years the highlands beckoned me once more and I moved up to Rothiemurchus in 1991. I have lived and worked here ever since in various guises, mainly with the Ranger Service and as Fishing Instructor.
Group Sales Co-ordinator
I first came to Scotland to study at Edinburgh and after graduating I worked for the University of Aberdeen on a deer management project. I had been visiting Rothiemurchus and always found it such a beautiful part of Scotland, so I jumped at the chance to work and live somewhere so inspiring! My role as Groups Sales Co-ordinator allows me to help families and larger parties enjoy their visit to the estate. In my spare time, I spend time exploring the forest, lochs and mountains and can usually be found falling off a bike somewhere in the Cairngorms.

Content Coordinator
I am originally from Edinburgh, in my early 20’s I moved to Glasgow to study photography and after graduating spent some time living in Canada. I have been living in Aviemore since 2017 and I love being in the Cairngorms, the landscape and wildlife are incredible and I am happiest when I am out exploring with my camera. Working at Rothiemurchus has given me a great opportunity to get up close with Hairy Coos, deer and birdlife and learn more about this special place.
Farm Shop Manager
I was born and brought up in the Oxfordshire countryside and in 2010 I moved to Kingussie with my husband who is a gamekeeper and my 2 children. I love to be out in the countryside hill walking, biking or just out with all our dogs. When I moved here I took up Thai boxing which I love, its fantastic fitness and a great way to release all the stresses! I came to work at Rothiemurchus in October 2016 as the Farm Shop manager I really enjoy food, especially baking and I love looking for and tasting new products to sell (especially new gins!!)
Countryside Manager
My family have lived in Nethy Bridge since I was 6 years old and I have always considered the Highlands to be home. I’m a keen golfer, walker, hiker, trail runner (provided the trails are flat) and much of my time up here has been spent out on the bike or in the hills, enjoying the magnificent wildness of his part of Scotland. I studied International Relations at University, before working in Edinburgh for 4 years in financial services. However, the desire to work closer to home and be in some way involved with the outdoors lead to me moving back north a year ago. I spent last summer working in the Rothiemurchus Centre, helping both visitors and locals to share in this amazing place. After a winter chasing a tan in New Zealand I am back working as the Countryside Manager and relishing the challenges and opportunities ahead.
