Family Fun at the Fishery

Yesterday was International Day of Families and to celebrate we have compiled a list of the most family-friendly things to do at the fishery.

Bait Fishing

Our attractive smaller lochs are perfect for the novice angler and have been the starting point of many a life long hobby. Here you can experience the thrill of catching your first fish! With some guidance from our team, who will get you set up with a rod and bait, show you the basics and have you catching trout in no time

Feed the Fish

For the wee ones (and not so wee ones) there is Feed the Fish, watch with excitement as many mouths come to the surface to get to the food first. This is an ideal activity if you have family or friends who wish to go fishing and children that want to do something a little different. Why not have a ride on our wee tractors too?

Fly Fishing

Ideal for the more experienced angler. With a gorgeous mountain backdrop and ponds well stocked with rainbow and blue trout, it is the perfect place to unwind. 
If you have never fly fished before or want to improve your technique – no problem! Our experienced team are on hand and can tailor your tuition. 

Osprey Spotting

Have an ice cream and look for ospreys!
These majestic birds feed almost daily at Rothiemurchus once they have returned from their long migration and several birds can be seen each day during the summer months. The perfect place for a quick afternoon pit stop!
