Dinner inspiration:

The Farm Shop, located inside the Rothiemurchus Centre, is a great place to come if you are planning a special dinner. Here you will find Rothiemurchus raised Highland beef and velvety venison that has been expertly butchered and prepared by Brian our butcher. During Spring and Summer, there is trout smoked in-house by our Farm Shop manager as well as fresh trout available. There is also a great selection of specialist World-food and ‘Free From’ ingredients Or if you are looking for a break from cooking there is also a great selection of frozen, home-cooked meals!

Planning the perfect cheese and wine night

Holidays are all about indulgence and what is better than an evening in tucking into a selection of delicious local cheeses and a really good bottle of wine? Our Farm Shop staff will be able to advise you on which cheeses to pick and according to your taste. We also stock the all-important cheese board accompaniments like olives, a fantastic range of Scottish chutneys, oatcakes and biscuits. And no cheese and wine night would be complete without the wine! There is a bottle here to suit any taste with red, white, rose and non-alcoholic wines.

Foodie gifts and treats

Whether you are looking for gifts to take home or a treat for just now there is plenty to tempt you. Our shortbread selection ranges from traditional recipes including beremeal shortbread from Orkney to Shortbread with salted Caramel or white chocolate and hazelnut. We also stock some fabulous artisan chocolates from a variety of producers, including Chocolate Tree in Edinburgh and seasonal delights like fresh strawberries grown just a few miles away on Alvie Estate.

Local Gin

As well as wine, the Farm Shop also stocks whisky, local beer and a great range of gins many from distilleries on neighbouring estates like Inshriach and Kinrara. You can find a delicious gin cocktail recipe created especially for Rothiemurchus by Scott the excellent manager of the Old Bridge Inn here.

Loch an Eilein Gallery

Situated near the banks of beautiful Loch an Eilein, approximately two miles from Rothiemurchus Centre, is Loch an Eilein Gallery. Open from early April to late October the gallery showcases work from local artists and craftspeople, including painting, photography, pottery and jewellery.
