Spending time in the Great Outdoors is good for the body and soul, enjoy a leisurely Sunday stroll through ancient pines around Loch an Eilein, with views of the Cairngorms and hopefully see a red squirrel. Step back in time as you retrace the steps of the Highland  cattle raiders or imagine sheltering in the 13th-century island castle, as you walk around the easy 5k path. Voted Britain’s Favourite Picnic Spot it’s the perfect place for a family to enjoy being together.

Try Something New

If your mum or mums, enjoy a bit more action then Rothiemurchus, has so much to offer. You can test your aim at the Clay Shooting Range, where our brilliant, friendly instructors are there to guide you whatever your level of experience. Explore a stunning network of trails and tracks on a Quad Trek, the minimum age for both is 12 years old. Discover you are much braver than you think you are as you navigate the courses at TreeZone, suitable for ages 7+ (min height 110cm).

Tea and Scones at The Druie

After all that fresh air, head over to the Druie Café located in the Rothiemurchus Centre for famed for it’s home baking and treat your mum or granny to one of our special cakes.

Do the Cooking

Thank your mum for caring for you by cooking her a meal to remember. Our Estate Farm Shop has everything you need; our own succulent Highland beef or velvety venison, artisan cheeses, handmade chocolates and lots of locally produced gins. They even have a range of homemade ready meals just in case you need a bit of help!
