Rothiemurchus Centre has a wide range of gifts. From camping, fishing or biking multi-tools by Gentlemen’s Hardware to great grooming kits from Dear Barber and of course a selection of great cards.

Or perhaps he would prefer something to eat or drink?

The Farm Shop stocks an array of excellent single malt whiskies as well as locally produced beer and gin. They also have a great assortment of chocolate, including Booja-Booja which is both dairy and gluten-free.

For the Fishermen in the family

Rothiemurchus Fishery has well-stocked lochs and is set in spectacular surroundings with dramatic views of the Cairngorm Mountains. The dedicated fly fishing loch provides a tranquil setting for fly anglers to try and land one of the top quality rainbow and brown trout. Or if you think your Dad might fancy something a little different there is the newly launched Guided Pike Fishing, with the fantastic backdrop of Loch an Eilein, there is no better place to fish for pike in the Cairngorms. Guided pike fishing is for those who would like to learn to pike fish or those who have fished for pike before and would like to gain more experience and improve their technique.

For the Action Dads!

If your Dad enjoys a bit more action, then Rothiemurchus has so much to offer the family. He can test his aim at Clay Shooting, in natural surroundings where our brilliant, friendly instructors are there to help you whatever your level of experience.  Explore a stunning network of trails and get close to some ‘Hairy Coos’ on a Quad Trek, the minimum age for both is 12 years old; or discover his inner Tarzan as he navigates the courses at TreeZone, suitable for ages 7+ (min height 110cm).

Coffee and Cake

After all that activity you will need some refreshments so why not head over to the Druie Café? In an old school room inside Rothiemurchus Centre, The Druie is famed for it’s home baking and coffee. Here you can treat your Dad or Grandpa to a lovely lunch or one of our special cakes.

And remember the Rothiemurchus Family Fishing Day is on the 22nd of June. It promises to be a great day out for the whole family with bait fishing taster sessions, a mini competition with prizes and a BBQ!
