Journey down the river Spey with us, using touring kayaks specially designed to be stable, comfortable and easy to paddle. The experience is guided by expert kayak guides who will teach you skills and guide you safely on this amazing way to see the Cairngorms National park from a comfortable kayak seat.
You can paddle fast or chill and take it slow, taking in the abundant wildlife of the river. These kayaks also have ‘skegs’ which you can move up and down, so that controlling your direction is easy. The large cockpits make getting in and out easy and so taking snack stops along the way on sandy beaches or grassy banks is all part of the journey.
EQUIPMENT PROVIDED
Kayak, paddle, buoyancy aids, spray decks, helmets, wetsuit, wetsuit socks and shoes and paddle tops.
PARTCIPANTS TO TAKE
Swimming costume or similar to wear under wetsuit and a large towel. Drinks, sun protection cream and sun hats are recommended on hot days, warm hat on cold days!
EXPERIENCE
No previous experience required. Non swimmers are welcome, but poor swimming ability and any relevant medical conditions must be disclosed to the instructor before the start of the session.
MEETING POINT
The Pavilion. Please park at either the Woodland car park.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
Please arrive 10 minutes prior to session.
CANCELLATIONS
If you need to change your booking or cancel, we do require 24 hours notice in order for you to receive a full refund.
Please note that if you are booked under our Groups Terms & Conditions which would have been issued to you during the enquiry stage, these supersede the aforementioned T's & C's.
It is very unlikely we will need to cancel your activity booking and if we do not offer an alternative in substitution, then we will issue a full refund. We reserve the right to change your ‘activity type’ for reasons such as, but not limited to, unsuitable weather.
Unfortunately, the weather changes in Scotland are often too last minute and unpredictable for us to give any notice of that change as the localised nature of rainfall in relation to river catchment areas is not something forecasts can accurately predict.
If we do change your activity, we will aim to ensure the substitution is of a similar level of excitement and fun. It is the experience we have to make those substitution calls that has kept us at the top of our industry for safety for more than 10 years.
We reserve the right to change your activity or venue for any reason and without giving notice and if people do then not wish to take part in the alternative activity or at the alternative venue offered, no refund will be given. Late arrival of clients: if you arrive more than 15 minutes late for your activity we reserve the right to not take you and not offer a refund, as you may otherwise affect other customers we have or our staff working hours / arrangements.
