A new and exciting activity for Rothiemurchus, River Spey Paddle Boarding provides a unique way to explore this beautiful area. Suitable for ages 8+ and easy to learn, stand up paddle boarding (SUP) is the fastest growing water sport around the world.
Your guide will cover safe launch, landing and self rescue techniques, efficient forward paddling, spinning and all-round board control as well as learning how to ferry glide across the current, the first step to learning how to surf!
The river is much more sheltered from the wind than highland lochs, so makes a great learning environment and the river’s flow makes it extra fun.
Experienced guides take small groups of 6 people maximum to ensure you get a personal, high quality experience.
The River is short 5-minute walk from our changing rooms.
EQUIPMENT PROVIDED
Wetsuits, wetsuit shoes and helmets. Jackets can be provided if cold.
PARTICIPANTS TO TAKE
Swim stuff and old trainers that will get wet, spare dry clothes and a towel.
EXPERIENCE
No previous experience required. Ability to swim is desirable and any relevant medical conditions must be disclosed to the instructor before the start of the session. Please note you will be walking on a roadside foot path to the river.

CREDIBILITY
John Mason, Full On Adventure’s director has over 20 years experience in the adventure sports coaching and guiding field. A qualified teacher with high level adventure sports coaching qualifications in a wide range of outdoor pursuits, he has worked for the national adventure guides training school, several leading outdoor education centers and travelled widely with his kayak and other outdoor toys.
