On the water at Rothiemurchus

Fed by burns that trickle and leap off the Cairngorm and Monadhliath mountain ranges, the lochs and rivers at Rothiemurchus are pristine. The good news is you can immerse yourself in this watery wilderness in almost endless ways.

From spring to autumn, anglers of all styles and abilities can fish in the wild or at our stocked ponds. Expert guides will take you stand-up paddleboarding or canoeing on Loch an Eilein, or paddleboarding, family rafting or kayaking down the River Spey. If you have your own equipment or wish to hire some and go solo you can do that at nearby Loch Insh and Loch Morlich where you can also take part in guided activities.
