Rothiemurchus Camp and Caravan Park in Coylumbridge has been designed to let the ancient forest grow and spread naturally, so here you sleep amid towering Caledonian pines. Tread lightly, leave no trace
If you like the idea of camping in the wild rather than at a campsite, you’re not alone. As wild camping increases in popularity, it’s more important than ever to do it responsibly.
Most of Rothiemurchus is a conservation area. Help us care for this unique and ancient forest and the wildlife that lives in and around. Do your bit by sticking to maintained paths, not lighting fires, taking any litter home and keeping dogs to heel or on short lead. To make an even bigger contribution, pick up any you come across.

The forest and moorlands at Rothiemurchus are very vulnerable to fire at all times of year and in all weather conditions. Lighting anything – BBQ, cigarette, campfire – is dangerous, so please don’t. Be careful when disposing of glass items, too, as they can be a fire hazard when placed in direct sunlight.
Loch an Eilein Overflow Camping
Rothiemurchus and the surrounding area is a very popular holiday destination, and there are times
when every campsite is fully booked. If this happens, to help us care for nature we have a single-night overflow camping area next to Loch an Eilein car park to help people with tents and campervans camp responsibly. You can pay the attendant, or use the QR code to pay online if you arrive out-of-hours.
Please be respectful to others by keeping noise to a minimum. You will have to pay for daytime parking if you intend to spend the day at Loch an Eilein.
